This year we are offering a Cracking Christmas Getaway Break at The Mortimer Arms. Join us from Christmas Eve where you will be welcomed by a bottle of Prosecco and a Festive Treats Hamper in your room, the bar will be open until 11pm for drinks to get in the festive cheer, then it will be Christmas Day and you will enjoy a hearty Full English Breakfast or perhaps Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs if you prefer as it is the special day, a cheeky glass of Bucks Fizz is available! It will then be time for a relax before joining us for our Fabulous Christmas Day lunch, the pub does then close earlier than normal on Christmas Day evening but you won’t go hungry as we will provide you with a meat and cheese platter (if you can fit it in!) to enjoy at your leisure. Boxing Day you will then be treated with another Full English Breakfast and the day is yours to do as you wish, enjoy the very traditional New Forest Pony Point to Point or the Boxing Day meet with The New Forest Hounds in Brockenhurst or if shopping is your thing we are just moments away from West Quay and the Boxing day sales! All of this is available to you for just £500 per couple.
Our En Suite Rooms
Our accommodation boasts 3 superior doubles, 8 standard doubles, 2 Suites and 1 twin room, all en-suite. All our Standard rooms are dog friendly.
The building was originally a Dowager’s House and not purpose built as an Inn. Our stairs creak, as do some of our floors, the walls aren’t symmetrical and the sash windows might be a bit stiff. But this is part of its charm.
Our suites can accommodate 2 adults. When there is a party being held in our Function Room there will be excessive noise in the suites directly above so check with our Reception staff who will try to allocate an alternative room.
As we are a Country Inn all rooms are above something, whether it be the bar, restaurant or the kitchen, so there will be noise coming from below during our opening hours.
We have listed all our rooms and have given you an honest appraisal of each room so you know what to expect.
All rooms have TV, tea & coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi.
Room 1 Ludlow
These rooms retain the charm, character and the antiquity of the old building. Ludlow has an en suite with a walk-in shower and Cranberry has a bath with shower.
Room 2 Cranberry
Room 3 York
With open countryside views to the front of the Inn, a magnificent four poster bed and an en suite with a bath.
Room 4 March
Lovely decor, slightly smaller than the Superior Doubles with an en suite walk-in shower.
( some noise can be heard from the cellar fans )
Room 5 Oxford, Room 11 Wigmore and Room 12 Chirk
Good sized rooms with an ensuite bath shower/bathroom. These are three of the original rooms of the Inn.
Room 6 Isabella, Room 7 Berkeley and Room 8 Odiham
These three rooms are slightly smaller and therefore are unable to accommodate any additional beds. All have showers over bath en suites.
Room 9 Arundel and Room 10 Pembroke
These are good sizes suites with shower-over-bath en suites. Each has a double bed, a sofa.
There is a door separating the main bedroom from the sofa area to allow versatility of the accommodation. As the suites are above our function room, please check with hotel staff if there are any parties on the night of your stay as it will be extremely noisy.
Room 11 Wigmore and Room 12 Chirk
An interesting combination, there is an interconnecting door which allows residents access if sharing with friends and/or family. Both have an additional sofa. They each have a shower-over-bath en suite.
These rooms are located above our kitchen.
Room 14 The Bruce
Located on the ground floor it has direct access, via a patio door, onto the front garden of the Inn and is one of our “dog friendly” rooms. Complete with a flat screen television and small en suite shower room.
Room 15 The Springham
Another “dog friendly” room on the ground floor with twin beds and an en suite bathroom.
( Some people can hear noise from the freezer units )
